House Clearance companies, Liverpool? - The Nut
We need to dispose of a house full of furniture and appliances in the next month. Anyone know of a reliable company that would do this, ie sell anything of value and dispose of the rest?

Found a few companies online but have no idea who's good and who are the rip offs and cowboys.

If you have the time and patience sitck them on e bay to collect cash on collection.

Or a quick google search or the yellow pages will have many.

Most auction houses will do/arrange house clearance, the main benefit is that the decent stuff will get a fairer price - even an astronomical price , a small box we sold when my father died realised £900 pounds and you will have the rest moved by a known company.
Don't use the advertised clearance companies unless you have had a recommendation.

When I came to clear my mothers house I removed all the items of value.
I asked small companies for a quote but it was hard work.
They all wanted to come and see what was worth selling.
Having told one of them there was nowt, they did turn up, grumbled when they discovered the truth and did the job.
I was just a little shocked when they smashed up the stand alone wardrobes to get them in the van.

It's Liverpool. Just don't bother locking your door.

In the east end, my granny was so poor that when she left the door open, people would drop things off. East End spirit she called it....

Receiving the Police called it.

No, no, no, padlock the door, that way it will be gone by morning.

Not saying you'll have a similar item - but appoint someone appropriate to dispose of items that you can trust.

Thanks for all the advice, getting a reputable auction house to do it. Sister in law is organising it for next week.

We've used Bainbridges on a few occassions to clear houses, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again (and who knows, we might get lucky next time!)
