Gawd, she was a local lass; hopefully she'll haunt her ex hubby rather than the Harlestone Road!!!!

"A number of scary scenes have been spotted along Britain's longest moterway - the M6 - which took the second spot in the top ten list. "
I used to drive up and down there regularly in the middle of the night, never scared me a bit. infact I love that road.
Never saw anything frightening.

I thought I heard one once!
I had just loaded 24 tonnes of potatoes in this farm yard on a flat trailer
tinyurl.com/29mlply
As I started to rope and sheet the load, which is a good 45 minutes work, it was getting dusk.
The farmer, to my horror said he was off home.
I asked if anyone lived on the farm and he told me no, but I would be safe enough parking there all night.
He kindly pointed out a trough with a running spring source of very cold water that I could use to get a wah when I had finished.
It was almost dark when I had a wash and finally pulled my curtains and climbed into bed in the lorry, but I was uneasy as I knew there was an open prison nearby.
I tossed and turned for ages and then just as I was dropping off I heard this loud noise.
I jumped out of bed, pulled on a T shirt and jeans and drove off. I didn't care about the tacho and I drove all the way to the main road at Woodbridge and parked at a garage.
When I'd finally calmed down I realised that the noise I heard was...
MOOOOooooooooo, yes, it must have been the resident cow:)

I'd like to meet a ghost, when we lived up on the moor, I used to walk to this old church at night from our home,
I even went into the place at midnight (alone) on All Saints Eve once :)
I met many locals who wouldn't go near the place ***in the daytime***

No I haven't seen one.....
....I've seen a few.
|
I've never seen a ghost or anything like one. I did see a bird at a funeral once that seemed to recall the deceased in some way. But those are emotional occasions.
Among my African carvings is a small ugly Congolese mirror fetish with the mirror missing. When I said I was thinking of getting a mirror-shard and sticking it in the recess on the front of the carving, an African - a sophisticated man not from the Congo - urged me not to. 'You don't know what you're doing,' he said. 'It might have unforeseen consequences.'
Somehow I never got round to it and the fetish is still in mothballs so to speak. Childish of me I know.

Very sensible.
You don't want Tokoloshe in the house.

Coming home from work down the A30 one winter evening.
At Hatch, just before Basingstoke, the dual carriageway narrows to single with trees in the central reservation and nearside verge.
I was doing around 70mph when I saw a teenage girl run across the road and stop to look at me. Much too close to avoid impact I flinched and ducked....nothing!
I've convinced myself that it was my own headlights or those of another vehicle behind the trees but it certainly shook me up.

The A30 at Blackbushe is supposed to be haunted.

I don't know about roads, but this is the house we are moving into in 2 weeks time, on Google Streetview. SWMBO freaked out when she saw the window:

>> Marc Bolan ?
...or Brian May, not sure. We'll keep our ears open after we move in and report back.

At least Dr May is alive and well !

You're right of course; I realised my mistake after posting. Must be Marc then. Get it on :)

Tie a yellow mini round the old oak tree

Marc Bolan was no great loss to music. We're not talking Ray Charles here are we.
Glam rock was just utter, utter, utter rubbish.
|
I sort of wavered with the T Rex thing but moved onto Heavy Rock - where's my air-guitar..?
Thinking about it now - I may dig out some of my Bolan vinyl....should have become fashionable again by know.
