If the press is to be believed, and the charges are true, Man City deliberately artificially inflated the sponsorship deals to hide the money coming in through the back door from the Arab owners.

to the tune of £830 million over 8 years

Not sure if HM Customs and Revenue are going to want to have a look at this as well. If they do, they wont be tied up in the courts. If they have been short changed they wont hesitate to bankrupt the club to get money owed. Which means automatic relegation.

Back in 2012 Rangers were liquidated after HMRC went after them for tax owed on dodgy EBTS and side letter contracts.

Unfortunately the Scottish football authorities didnt have the balls needed to truly investigate them thoroughly and properly, unlike the English with Man City.

Its quite funny hearing ex Rangers folk like Graeme Souness and Ally McCoist coming out and saying the book needs throwing at City for cheating but they were very quiet when it was their own team!

Part of the trouble is that the bosses of such outfits lose touch with reality, as everything they talk about, such as players' wages, involve seven-figure annual sums. Five-figure sums are petty cash.

Selling cars isn't quite as bad :-)

Dan Neidle seems to think they've dodged about £12m in tax.

Overall punishment should be thrown out of Premier League, all trophies forfeit, massive fine, and no league above Northern League Division 1 should be accepting them.
