About 60 years ago while in Canada, I played cricket with a largely Caribbean team as honorary white man and wicket-keeper. That role didn't call for any true batting expertise, so I used to slog, occasionally with some success. The rest of the team would shout pleasantries from the boundary such as 'Bat like Sobers!' (you have to imagine the accent).
As a supporter of Glamorgan I seem to remember he was responsible for hitting Malcolm Nash for six sixes in an over ?
