Pink:)
I do hope the rather fetching shade of pink isn't in any way for us females?
If it is, then it's totally wasted on me, I couldn't be any less of a pink person, more a mucky shade of khaki actually!

As opposed to shades of blue leds as favoured by the truckers more in touch with their feminine side?
|
Designers haven't had a chance to look at it yet. This was "pick a colour" (sort of passionate colour kind of thing) and then photoshop to get the tint...
|
Well, maybe just a bit more butch shade of pink then:)
Blue LED's?
Like the boy racers who arrive at Burtonwood services lorry park to do donuts late at night when we're all asleep?
They soon moved location when a few curtains were pulled back!

The pink reminds me of the colour of a popular brand of laxative.
This leads me inevitably to a quip about the quality of some of the posts - including mine. :)
|
Is that the laxative that the bottle says "May darken the stools"?
I told Mrs Crankcase about that once and she forbade me from rubbing it on the kitchen furniture.
|
I was about to comment on how many internet users seem to be full of, er, anyway I decided against it. Now I'm not so sure! ;-)
|
The unread post blue/grey with important bits in red is the colour scheme I have selected on my car's nav/info screen so I'm at home with it. The pink read areas however....
|
...Is that the laxative that the bottle says "May darken the stools"?...
Happily, I've never had the need to study the bottle.
A daily bowl of All-Bran does for me, although I should say other makes of bran cereals are available.

Is the HJ site back yet? :-)
|
Surprised 'HJ' got past the swear filter. :)
|
No - they need to fix the bugs and probably hire new mods.

Sorry - it was supposed to be more of a (humorous(?)) comment on the direction the thread was taking...

>> Blue LED's?
I thought they were used to indicate you like people of the same sex. Same applies to drivers who use their front fog lights.
|
I quite like the pink. Do I need councelling or something?
|
You need some blue LED's

I've got some foglights but I'm not sure how to turn them on. I just think it's an ok quite relaxing colour. I've got a shirt in almost exactly the same shade come to that......

The pink/blue scheme actually works pretty well for me. As some of the threads are getting longer it's easier to spot the new posts (especially when they're inserted into the middle of the thread) while scrolling rapidly down the page.
Yes, I probably am a luddite. At least we're not as inept as these people:
bit.ly/dvd57c
"A Google search for "Facebook" reveals News Results up top, followed by traditional search results. A timely Facebook news story landed first in the news results, and therefore first on the search results page.
The explosion of user complaints reveal how some people use their browsers, search engines, and the Web as a whole. Instead of typing "facebook.com" into the address bar or using bookmarks, they type the term into Google and click the first link on the page, effectively using search as a navigation tool."
And here's the page people were clicking on. Warning: Almost 1,900 comments follow the article, some with swearing in:

is that better on the eyes?

The new posts have "new" in little red letters against them.

And also have a blue background to make them standout even more.
|
No they don't. They're just black titles on pinkish and white stripes with "new" against them, in red.

I think you need a new monitor. New posts are on a blue background as well as having new.
|
No they aren't. Here's a cut'n'paste:
Shades of......... FotheringtonTomas 23 Feb 10 17:31
Shades of......... new welshy 23 Feb 10 17:34
And a bit more, showing my reply:
Shades of......... welshy 23 Feb 10 17:11
Shades of......... FotheringtonTomas 23 Feb 10 17:31
Shades of......... welshy 23 Feb 10 17:34
Shades of......... new FotheringtonTomas 23 Feb 10 17:46
Edit: Hmm. The "new" doesn't show up well. Should be after the last "........". I could upload a screenshot somewhere, I suppose.
Edit: Oh! It does, after all. Silly me, I'd missed it!

Could we have a Pantone colour chart in My Settings to choose what colour pink we would like. Only joking. But I bet I know someone who could do it if he wanted to. Clever chap.
|
Pink is fine. The black writing shows up well on a pink background. and pink tones with the Car4play heading at the top of the page.
And the blue background of new posts is fine as well. It's a good contrast with the pink of the old posts.
I vote for leaving the colour scheme as it is currently.

Agreed. I can spot new posts much more easily than I could at The Other Place.
