I've felt really rough the last few days, totally lethargic and a bit dizzy.
I've just realised that I've been accidently overdosing my blood pressure tabs since Sunday.
The pharmacy usually gives me 2 x 8mg a day and I have been taking 2 x 16mg as I didn't read the box and just assumed they were the same thing.
Doh!

I'm very surprised.
In effect, the pharmacy have changed the dosage, or at least the mode of delivery of the dose, and I would expect them to have warned you.
There could be far more serious consequences with some medication.

Similar with Codeine one one occasion.

They were handed over by the young assistant pre-bagged and there was a mix of doses in the bag which didn't help.

The lesson of course is you need to always read the label.

Of course you are correct.
Though there is an oddity here. The original prescription was for 1 x 8mg daily, but the day after the doctor called me and said take 2 tablets daily not one.
I didn't know the repeat prescription had been changed to 16mg.

Spoke to the Doc before lunch and she confirms that what I took is the largest dose that they give and one usually ramps up to that level.
So back to the normal dose from today and of course yet another blood test tomorrow to make sure nothing adverse has happened.

What are you taking for BP?
I have 10mg Ramipril each day to give my heart an easier time. Low BP can be an unwanted side effect for me.
I receive 5mg tabs and take 2 daily. I've told the pharmacist they can dispense me 10mg tabs if they want but they don't seem bothered.
