 Broken Furniture Delivery - zippy
I posted elsewhere on the forum in jest about our poltergeist.

Anyway, I ordered a new unit from the reputable shop and paid for it. The first part was delivered to a neighbour - whilst we were IN on Monday. It clearly said box 2 of 2. I had to call the company to chase up box 1 of 2 and it was delivered yesterday. Neighbour coincidently was expecting a furniture delivery so took it in. This box (2/2) is in perfect condition, wrapped in some super strong tube like bubble wrap. Box 1 of 2 is wrapped in plastic with only corner protectors and the only internal protection is a soft plastic cloth like material about 0.25mm thick.

Courier - not the usual suspects, but a large organisation specialising in more complex deliveries, left the package at the front door and disappeared before I could get to open it.

Took the package in, photographed it as there were dents. Opened it and the furniture is totally smashed in a very similar way to the previous one, in fact worse, the first was cracked but only half way through. The whole side wall of this one has come away.

I think the couriers are playing football with it.

For the first broken unit (the one delivered last week) they just left it at the top of the drive - and had dragged it on to the drive - I heard it being scrapped but they had gone before I got there.

I have had over half a dozen calls to the reputable company I purchased this off and they have failed to collect the broken unit despite promising to collect it on Monday.

I haven't got annoyed or raised my voice with the call centre but this is getting frustrating.

What to do next - I really want a good version of this furniture because it matches other pieces.
