Company I work for have gone all PC and are now encouraging employees to say Happy Holidays instead of Happy Christmas, in case it offends certain religions.
2 fingers up to that.

I'm pretty hot in equality and diversity stuff and agree that's nonsense. Literally nobody is likely to be offended by a wishing b a merry xmas. And if they are it's likely that everyone is aware of their sensitivity.

They need to be reminded then they will need to rename Diwali, and Ramadan, and Easter.
In fact as a highly offended radical agnostic, I demand they are all renamed "Non Specific Heathen festival"

Civil Service T&Cs for many years allowed staff to have an advance of December salary in the middle of the month rather than usual last banking day.
Out of the blue the Agency I was working in announced it was withdrawing the facility on diversity grounds as not everyone celebrates Christmas.
A number of us pointed out that many non Christians, self included, marked it as a celebration of family etc. If they wanted to be celebrate diversity they could expand the offer so that staff could have a mid month advance once a year in any month.
The removal didn't go ahead.....

Ten or more years back we had a number of Indian non-Christian colleagues who used to try to time their visits to the U.K. for December. They said they didn’t celebrate Christmas as a religious festival but their kids engaged in social media and western advertising so pester power came into play. Popular gifts included trendy trainers which were surprisingly cheaper in U.K. than India.
I wonder if it’s still the case with the growth of online retailing. Even if its no longer cheaper to buy in the UK I expect presents at Christmas are still a thing.
