From about June, up until the end of October, I sported a beard that was very much like Uncle Albert's in only fools and a mate's kid is convinced that I'm Santa! To be really realistic, I would need a white wig.
I've just been reading an article in the Telegraph that says that part time Santas can earn over £1k for Christmas day visits! I guess that's in big cities.
Say 5 or 6 visits over the course of Christmas Day - nice!
Perhaps next year :-D

My neighbours 13 y-o daughter has just 'fessed up to her parents that she has doubts that Father Christmas is real.
Based on my own kids years ago I expect she's known, or at least had strong suspicions, for some while but didn't want to spoil their fun (and also that of her younger brother). Or maybe she thought they still believed LOL

I think I knew officially when I was about 4 years old, certainly pre-school, but was under strict instructions not to tell my younger brother who was 3 years younger. I don’t think that was so unusual in the 1950’s.
In matters of Santa kids seem more innocent nowadays. Less innocent in other ways perhaps.

A vicar telling kids they shouldn't believe in Santa because he isn't real?
You couldn't make it up could you?

SWMBO used to run a youth club for SEN kids. I was (reluctantly) dragged in to play Santa. Both my daughters were there for this special occasion. At the time, someone jingled some bells and i told my kids that Santa had asked me to go and hold his reindeer.
To this day, they don't believe it was me! They swear they would've recognised me -they're now in their forties.
