Made sense to visit York.
Walked on all available walls and followed them wherever possible. Read all the info boards and learnt lots of new stuff.
Busy as expected, but warm dry weather, great views across York and reminded myself how good it is, especially if you walk outwith the walls downstream following the Ouse then back upstream crossing the Foss.
Discovered some lovely quiet corners, and pubs, led by a friend who rowed on the Ouse for decades.
Great cheapish day out..best pizza for years, half price before 4pm, washed down with some great beers in great pubs off the tourist routes.
