Shortest New Client Meeting Ever - zippy
I am dreadful at remembering faces / names, but some stick.

I was called up last night by a sales director to ask if I could accompany him to a new prospect, he's very excited, they want to move really quickly and it's quite a complex business and he asked for a bod (me) from credit to have a look over the prospect with him.

So I get a briefing on route, including names, but they weren't familiar.

We turn up and the sales guy does the introduction with the MD who is called "Rob F", then it slowly dawns on me...he has put on a few stone and certainly more grey, no, I am sure of it, he is the MD that about 20 years ago, tried to defraud a previous employer by several million pounds using a devious network of companies. I ask, "George, isn't it?, George B?"

Sales director looks confused. "Yes", George says, after trying to say no.

I suggest we leave to the sales director and the prospect agrees.

Fuming Sales Director, but on the route back I let him know the history of the man and the fraud.

CIFAS updated with a connection to the new name. Financial crime team advised.

(All names changed.)
