Bit of a moan...

I was in a regional office earlier in the week and witnessed the following conversation between a director and a manager about a third party who I will call Bob. Bob is a new starter...

Manager to Director: "Bob has asked what training he needs to do."

Director: "It's on the training website, email the link to the website."

Manager: "The website is notoriously difficult to navigate and it's difficult to find all of the training you need to do. It's going to take some time to list out all of the courses he needs".

Director: "Send the link for the main site only. If Bob doesn't do all the training he needs to do then he won't get his bonus and there will be more in the pot for everyone else".

Manager: "OK".

To be fair, they were chatting about the new starter and this came up.

I would sack both of them to be honest, but then I am not a manager.
