Past 3.00 p.m.and not a peep here.

Personal and work phone went off. Rather an anti-climax.

Mrs Z is miffed as her phone hasn’t yet (O2).

 Alarm - Zero
Chirped in here. Rather muted I thought, with a horrible computer generated voice.

I think I've found the flaw with this.

I happened to be using the phone at he time to check the weather forecast...it started making an unpleasant noise and a message of some kind appeared.

I immediately hit what I took to be a 'dismiss' button to stop the noise.

Nothing further was heard, the message disappeared along with the strident noise, and I can't find the message anywhere. Nothing in my notifications or messages, so if Putin's missiles are on the way will somebody please put it on here?
 Alarm - Zero
so if Putin's missiles are

No, we are all in our bunker, let US know when its safe to come out.

Reports are that the 3 Three network might not have transmitted it, also my old Blackberry had the voice message but both the two iPhones in the house just had the noise.

 Alarm - CGNorwich
That would make sense as I use ID mobile whihc utilises the Three network
 Alarm - smokie
Ah yes, so do the four failures in my lot.

I think you can set it to repeat.

I said, I think you can set it to repeat :-)

1 out of 5 phones in our close family worked the rest stayed quiet. Maybe Putin has been fiddling already...

Not sure how accurate all this is but interesting reading as to how it works.

I never got it. No real surprise though, I disabled it in the phone menu settings.

Was in Talbot beer garden.
Didn’t want to spill my beer

Was through Settle week last Friday after a week in the Lakes (instead of Middleton in Teesdale).
Left the Lakes in lovely sunshine and the more we drove East the heavier the rain.
Coffee and cake pit stop at the Folly Cafe/Museum of North Craven Life.
 Alarm - smokie
Why would one disable it, assuming you meant permanently?

I felt it'd be useful to at least hear how it worked.

>> Why would one disable it

I am not a sheep. I am also not in an area that's at risk of flooding, a tsunami, etc. If Putin pushes the red button we're all done for anyway. And given that providing I'm in an area with other people who have mobile phones, then I'll hear the warnings on their phones, as I did in Tesco yesterday.

Seriously though, I've seen enough media recently to know what happens.

I was out on a long walk and had to have a pony by the river Fowey at about that time, so it's just as well I wasn't startled.

:o}

Trotting by the riverside. How lovely :)

More like rotting by the riverside.

I was having a nap in the computer chair. I forgot the alarm until it gave me a rude awakening !
