Peter Sarstedt. Where Do You Go To lyrics - bathtub tom
I've heard a bit of a longer version of this which I found intriguing.

Wiki verifies it exists: "There is also a slightly longer version (5.20 as opposed to 4.42) with two extra verses that was apparently banned from radio play due to (then) questionable lyrical content."

I've spent most of the morning searching for the extra verses without success.

Anyone here help?

As he wrote it, I suppose you could send him an Email...

His website suggests you could:

www.petersarstedt.com/index2.html

but the link appears to need outlook, or something else not present on my laptop, and "view source" appears to have been knobbled.

I've heard there is a version which has the line -

"How do you rub in the sun oil When you're alone on the beach Show me the bits that confound you The parts that are just of reach...... "

Hmm! something strange! although i have`nt heard this for a couple of years, i `ve failed to spot the two extra verses! - it seems to be exactly the same!

2 additional verses

You go to the embassy parties
Where you talk in Russian and Greek
And the young men who move in your circles
They hang on every word you speak, yes they do.

You’re in between 20 and 30
A very desirable age
Your body is firm and inviting
But you live on a glittering stage, yes you do, yes you do.

and 2/3 minor word differences if the lyrics have been transcribed 100% accurately in the longer version.

I must get on with jobs beforeswmbo gets back!

Thanks Bellboy.

You've done something useful today - at least for me.

Funny things songs, I remember hearing that on a radio of a red Renault 12 Estate in Manchester must have been around '77-78.
