Took place at Bolton Abbey, where my best pal got married and I was Best Man.
F Truman lived in the tiny hamlet of Flasby, a few miles from Skipton. I’ve walked through it twice in the past 7 days on walks from Gargrave and Skipton, where a statue of him in action bowling stands alongside the canal basin.
I was there yesterday and saw it across the basin from The Boathouse, where I was enjoying a few late afternoon pints of Tiller Pin, having walked from Gargrave alongside the canal before catching the bus back home.
