Has to be eggs. Supermarkets are rationing sales. Avian flu responsible apparentlly. None in Aldi this morning. Stangely in USA and Canada it's lettuces. Californian lettuce crop decimated by virus apparently. My daughter tells me they are now retailing for $8 upwards each and have disappeared from burgers Reply to this message | Report message

Solution is dried egg powder which I believe is readily available with a long shelf life. Probably tastes fairly disgusting scrambled, may be ok in an omelette, can't replicate boiled, probably good in cakes.
