On the face of this seem grossly unfair. this guy is losing his job on the strenght of a third party complaint. What about the concept of due process and justice. Does an MP just now need to be denounced to be cast into oblivion?

...well, there might be, but on the other hand they're paranoid about what the "Pincher" affair developed into when no early action was taken.

Either its not the whole story, or it's an indication of Truss riding roughshod over due process for the sake of political expediency.
I'm going with the latter for now.

With this sort of thing i doubt it's the first time they've been handsy in public.

The final straw in the Boris saga was failing to fire failing to fire the man with wandering hands.
Truss wants to show she has the resolve to do the "right thing". Burns went quietly as there is probably substance to the complaint or has too many skeletons in his cupboard.
Will we ever know the real reason??
