1. Go here.

population.io/

2. Enter your date of birth.

3. Get depressed.

Took one look at the population counter, going up about once a second. Did a quick calculation, decided to watch the tele.

27 November 2052

Seriously doubt it...

I'm older than 94% of the world's population.

I'm older than 86% of all people in the UK.

My expiry date is estimated to be the 23rd of November 2038.

Me thinks this owse move will have a bearing on that somewhat!!

Fun! Or is it... - Duncan
Older than 99% of the world's population
98% of the UK population
2027 is the year.
5.7 years to go.

What's wrong with that?

Am I the C4P winner(loser)?

11.5 years to go...not too bad. I'll be nearly 88........I wish !

13.9 years to go for me..I too will be nearly 88.
I am older than 89.9 % of the population.

18.6 years for me, just over 85.
More optimistically I did it for my dad and it says he has three years left. Not bad considering he died in 2002.

Just under 12 years to go - I will a bit over 87.

My 2 older brothers died at 72 and 80 so I will have had the longest life if the forecast is even near accurate.

I had stage 4 cancer on 2010 and was told that 5 year survival was unlikely. I was then told after 4 years that I would have a 80% chance of death by a n other cause/causes.

12 years on I feel I won a prize - at that time I had 4 grandkids who were still very young and unlikely to remember me - I now have 6 grandkids and they all know who Grandpa is!

He's the old man that we are forced to say thank you to for Birthday & Christmas presents!

It's an odd thing, that website, focusses your mind.

I read a news article this morning about UK nuclear power, blah blah, by 2050, and for the first time I thought, I probably won't be here by then.

Not really thought that before.

I tell myself that I am quite pragmatic about it.

The actuarial tables have been telling me that I have 5 years to go - and counting - counting down. It depends upon your luck.

a. Whether you have a long life.
b. Whether you keep all your faculties and a reasonable level of physical fitness.

Yes. Without dragging the thread down, my mum just died at 93. She had dementia and for the last few years her life quality wasn't good. For the last year she had no idea who anyone was, just lay there in silence or shouting and swearing at the care home staff.

Bit of exercise now and add five years to your life they say. But given they'll all be at the end, I think I'll have another packet of those new passion fruit Jaffa Cakes.

I was sad to lose my ole mum at age 88, but then her suffering had come to an end, so it wasn't all bad.

She was quite deaf, and in danger of losing a leg (but not an arm) due to circulation problems.

Her mental faculties were spot on though, better than mine, which isn't too difficult :o)

I have a sister age 90, housebound but 'all there'.

Another sister is on dialysis 3 times a week, had a mastectomy some years back, lost her husband 2 years ago.

Funny ole life, as my late friend the leather craftsman used to say.

I recently ordered a new carpet. Salesman gave me a funny look when I said it'll probably be the last.

I said to SWMBO that, in all probability, it was the last time the bulb in the toilet would need to be changed with a MTBF of something like 15 to 20 years.

6 months ago the light failed. Up on the steps, took out the old one and fitted the new one. No luck both dead? Unlikely I thought. Got the meter out - both bulbs were good. It was the holder that was failing - bit of sandpaper for the pins - Bingo job done.

I left the new bulb in and brought the old down as a spare for a lamp - easier to change a lamp bulb that a ceiling light.

I am so old.

I am old enough to remember when people had a mobile phone call, they used to hold the phone to their ear.

hahaha that made me laugh

Not my line. Might have been Bernard Manning.

Seems slightly pointless - the answer is late 80s. It is a statistical nonsense anyway - an average of a wide range of outcomes.

More important are quality years left without major physical and mental infirmity. Death is not my major concern, so much as how the journey pans out!

Just found out my cousin died. About 72, retired fireman. Wife went out, he went to water the flowers with the hosepipe, wife came home to find him dead, hosepipe in hand.
Paramedics arrive, open shirt to try resuscitation find "DNR" tattooed on his chest.

Way to go Les, salute you mate, hope mine is just as quick, tho would prefer a little more spectacular drama. Struck by lightening perhaps.

You missed two apostrophes out.

"You missed two apostrophes out."

Which ends on a preposition...

Insufficient full stop count if you are using an ellipsis....

Fun! Or is it... - BiggerBadderDave
"Insufficient full stop count if you are using an ellipsis...."

Very true, Cc. And an ellipsis is not three full stops. It's one character (that appears like three full stops), followed by a full stop.

Further, they aren't full stops. We typographers refer them to as full points.

Hmmmm.
Fun! Or is it... - BiggerBadderDave
Hmmmm, being an aitch, followed by four ms.
