 Ripping off the disabled - zippy
Mum’s in a lot of pain and uses a zimmer now.

She has been looking for a rising bed to help get in and out.

She had a salesperson turn up who wouldn’t leave.

I have found a similar specification at Dreams for £1,395.

Guess how much they wanted (answers below)….

... which includes "If you are registered disabled or have a long-term illness, you don’t have to pay VAT on adjustable beds or any other disability aids for your personal use. This also includes:

installation
repairs or maintenance
spare parts or accessories."

The term registered disabled has little real meaning and the VAT exemption seems, in practice, to rely on self declaration:
