I need a courrier who will collect letters and the occasional package from my door, give me a certificate of despatch for them (similar to the Post Office Certificate of Posting) and deliver them. Could posters who have used such a service recommend a service please?

DPD have been the best I've used. They've always been on time and send text alerts as to the progress of the driver. They also inform you when it has been delivered.

IIRC the Post Office themselves started a service like that recently.
www.parcel2go.com/ allows you to readily compare service and cost - I can't really recommend one as hardly ever used them.
EDIT: The Post Office offering is at www.royalmail.com/collection which I think won't be included in the comparison site above

Have you used DPD for letters Robin? From what I can see, it is for parcels only.
