 Some poetry - John Boy
I don't go in for reading poetry, but I heard this a few minutes ago in a music programme on the radio and found it very moving. It was written in early 2019, but seems really appropriate now. The first verse might seem overly political and negative, but that's not the ultimate message.

I can't say I like it, or the self-indulgent sentiment behind it, but without doubt it is strong and emotional.

It doesn't really bring a message of hope, does it.

Listening to other pieces of her work kind of devalues this one as it just becomes more depressing, 80's style protest prose in a manic style as was fashionable back then.

Not my thing, but thanks for posting it.

It wouldn't have had the same effect on me if I'd seen that live version first. The visuals would have got in the way of the words. That's why I chose to post the audio only version. I listen to a lot of music on the radio whilst I'm doing something else. Occasionally a track will make me take notice with a jolt and that was one. I've seen or heard her before, but that poem made the biggest impression on me.
