Quad biking tracks, for corporate events perhaps? It's the only time I've ever been on one, and it was a fairly tame course and probably low powered bikes. But I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

The markings look like vehicle tyre marks evidenced by the untouched area between the wheels. The markings lead off existing tracks/paths outside the field which kind of confirms this view. They lead to/from a HT cable tower and my guess it's evidence of a maintenance crew playing around.

I claim my £5 and I also spotted Lord Lucan lurking in the bushes.

They're the marks from a car trial - I guess.

I'm off to one there soon and looked it up on Google maps to find its location. It's on a side of a hill.

At the present time (when picture taken) field looks like a "harvested" grain field, with the stubble left, my guess is, (bearing crop-rotation in mind) that maybe that in previous (very wet) year(s) this was a "Beet" or "tattie" field, and the marks are simply tractor wheel marks, caused by trying to "spin your way" off the field with your load. - done it many times!

I gave the answer in the post above.
