Uses for credit cards - Zero
A thread prompted the idea.

Apart from its primary use, what else have you used a credit card for.

IIRC they are 25 thou thick, which was handy for gapping spark plugs on most british cars of the 70's & 80's !

Removing bee stings.

Info from a bee keeper - Scrape the sting with a credit card. Do not attempt to remove the sting with tweezers etc because this pumps more venom in.

A ski instructor once used his credit card to try and remove ice from the bottom of my skis.
Broke the card in two. He wasn't impressed!

I tried that but it goes flat. Am I doing it wrong?

Mixing Araldite ! Remember doing this at the roadside with a broken bike, had the two tubes but no mixing surface - it was a wet horrible day and I was desperate !

I locked myself out once and tried to use a credit card to slide the yale lock open, like you see in the films. Inevitably all that happened was I snapped the card in half.

I've also used them as a spatular for car filler, an ice scraper and for scraping the grass out from between paving stones on the patio.

I wanted one of them but wasn't allowed to after the Order...

You should go for it. Apart from mowing the lawn, incinerating the weeds (and ants, obviously) on the patio is my sole contribution to gardening.

I have always found that the larger, wider cable ties are better for opening yale locks....

You need to soften it with a lighter first and re-set into a curve, to ease it round the corner of the frame reveal.
There is an obvious snag of course.

Oh Bobby. What are we going to do with you.

Edit: Oh it wasn't Bobby. Sorry, I see a guy trying to burn his house down and I just think of Bobby.

No. A bent card won't work in a card reader.

Are you using the cheap, supermarket own-brands?

So that's what happened !

When I make my own bread, I crush 2 H & B 500mg Vit C with Bioflavonoids and Wild Rose Hips using a dessert spoon and add to the dough (bread, dough!)
and use an old credit card to scrape it all up, much like Bad Dave and his coke :)

For that all too common now, stab wound.

Place a credit card over the wound. If the wound does not have the knife stuck in it and is bleeding profusely from the leg or chest, place a credit card directly over the wound and continue to apply pressure to the injury with a cloth or bandage. This will prevent blood loss and lung collapse if the wound is in the chest.

Isn't it better to use an unwanted loyalty card from a supermarket for all these different uses?
