Exam Fees for Tax - zippy
Eldest chose to take some exams at the beginning of the year to further her doctoring career. The exam cost £600 and the travel and subsistence a further £100.

Can she claim the tax back from the HMRC or offset the costs against her "ash cash"?

She can claim some professional membership fees I think.

Probably OK if "wholly, exclusively and necessarily" for purposes of her employment.
See www.rcog.org.uk/en/careers-training/resources--support-for-trainees/useful-resources-for-trainees/tax-relief-on-exam-and-training-costs/ for the info from the Obs and Gyn lot.

Thanks for that. Should have checked with her board (DOH) and they say yes as well...
