Just before the lads exams at Uni, his laptop gave up the ghost.
I wanted to sort him out quickly and reliably and chose John Lewis. I could order on line and he could collect from the nearest store. They also offered 3 years warranty and did accidental damage warranties for a reasonable price unlike some of their competitors. They were also price competitive, even with other on-line retailers.
Lad went to the shop with the order text message and ID and collected the laptop. All was good.
About 3 weeks later, I was shopping for something or other online and noticed the price of the laptop had dropped £100. I whisked them off an email and the £100 was in may account within 3 days.
Excellent service - I will be back and hope their current woes are only temporary.

They're not often the cheapest, occasionally they'll match the price, as they did on our dish-washer - their service is second to none though. My MacBook Air's screen packed up a couple of years ago. Still in Warranty I dropped it off at Birmingham's branch two weeks before Christmas. It was couriered back to me a few days later with another 12 month guarantee attached. We buy most of white goods from them as and when required.
