I use flight radar for plane tracking and would like a decent app for shipping. Does anyone use one?

I tracked my BMW through its gestation and journey to my dealer. Through various means and processes I was able to check its build status through the plant, Its 14 days in the compound at Dingolfing, its journey to Cuxhaven, and via marine traffic.com its dockside at Cuxhaven loading and journey across the seas arriving in Southampton at 5:00am on a Sunday morning.
Thats a long winded vote for marintraffic.com

I'm not sure why but Pat's link only shows 5 vessels in our area of interest where we'll be on the water in a few weeks... but the Marinetraffic one shows 20. No idea why Vesselfinder is missing so many? Perhaps to twist your arm to pay? Perhaps they are showing different timeframes?
For example on Marinetraffic the lifeboat is shown and you can look at its track from the recent shout. Vesselfinder doesn't show it at all.
It may be if you dig deep in Vesselfinder there's more to be found but Marinetraffic lays it out in front of you on the homepage.

I am not ashamed to say, that I read that and had a most wonderful warm feeling. I welled up. To think that I played a tiny part in a man being joined with the object of his wants and desires.
It certainly restored my faith in human nature.

Wipe away your tears, put away the Kleenex and harden your heart.
