As age takes a toll, the means to make some tasks easier is a challenge. " You cannot get the staff these days" Laundry, yes a man and a van can call for it and we have a tumble drier but I still prefer to hang out some items in the sun. I have found the perfect , non human assistant - My garden cart. My laundry basket fits on it plus its rim perfectly fits over the cart handle so it is stable. No bending to select items. Highly recommended except for the BIG cost . I bought this beautifully designed light cart many years ago and it was for a fraction of the then cost. It's only when I stop to think that I realise how little work-arounds creep in for overcoming my wonkiness. I have noted your wheeze in case I fail to avoid pegging the washing our. We've had discussions before about ageing forumites and what's going to happen when we all reach our dotage, and I had this sudden picture of us all swapping tips on how to cope.
