As age takes a toll, the means to make some tasks easier is a challenge.
" You cannot get the staff these days"

Laundry, yes a man and a van can call for it and we have a tumble drier but I still prefer to hang out some items in the sun.
I have found the perfect , non human assistant - My garden cart.
My laundry basket fits on it plus its rim perfectly fits over the cart handle so it is stable.
No bending to select items.
Highly recommended except for the BIG cost .
I bought this beautifully designed light cart many years ago and it was for a fraction of the then cost.
I was rather taken aback at today's prices

Is this the direction this forum is going to take? Are we going to need a special section for "Handy tips for managing old age".

Argos are doing a special offer on Zimmer frames.
Did you know a bit of chewing gum was a cheap way of making false teeth stay in?
Warning about using walking sticks with woodworm.

I'm off!

My reply is too late for CP as he has already left but what a poor way to comment.
From the lack of replies in a week I am guessing that the topic is of no interest to others and they take the obvious alternative and do not bother to reply.

I think it was a joke Henry.

Old age itself isn't funny of course, but laughing about it is all one can do!

It's only when I stop to think that I realise how little work-arounds creep in for overcoming my wonkiness.

I have noted your wheeze in case I fail to avoid pegging the washing our. Repeated stooping makes me dizzy.

Going back to the garden cart, the council will supply a 310 litre wheely bin for nothing (if you tell them yours was nicked) Cut out the front and Bingo. Free versatile garden trasnporter trolly thing.

Some councils will, others won't. Mine won't.

My apologies. It was meant as a (poor) joke.
We've had discussions before about ageing forumites and what's going to happen when we all reach our dotage, and I had this sudden picture of us all swapping tips on how to cope.

Of course a wheeled basket makes sense, and I don't know your circumstances. It was rude and insensitive of me to reply as I did.

Amazon has it for 80 odd quid.

IMO still very expensive for the task I use it for

At the other end of the cost scale on another subject
A kids toy, ( that has been available for 25+ years ) , costing a pound or two that is far better and quicker than any spirit level to show me if a surface is horizontal.
One of these basic versions placed on the surface will start rolling if more leveling is required,
