Huge scandal, basically because two black blokes were asked to leave a Starbucks.
Two guys were in Starbucks, occupied a table in the corner and just sat there chatting. They bought nothing. They had been there some time and when asked what they were up to said that they were waiting for a friend. They were asked to buy something or leave. They refused to do either.
The manager called the police to say he had two guys refusing to leave. The police turned up, tried to persuade them to leave, insisted they leave, and then after almost 10 minutes arrested them and made them leave - as they would do to absolutely anybody.
From the video (which is mind-blowingly boring www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fBOQCfx6xc ) you can see that the store has other people, both black and white, not being asked to leave. Presumably because they were actually paying customers and buying stuff?
So, the two non-customers, waiting for a mysterious friend, who refused to leave when asked, are insisting that this is racial discrimination.
And the Starbucks Company management so terrified of being accused of something or other by the media have apologised.
It is about time that being a total bunt became a capital crime.

I'm pretty sure that an earlier version of that story said that the person they were waiting for did actually turn up. That's my recollection anyway.
