I once owned an orange Ford Mexico but don’t think that counts. My northern based CA friends used to drive south to Mexico for Christmas. They had ( still have) one of those camper units that slot into the bed of their ute. They took their 4 dogs, kayaks, Canadian canoe plus other toys and park up on a beach somewhere Baja California way. Amazing times were had, but it’s quite the drive from near Tahoe, but security was always a concern so they camped with other folks in a group. I have photos of then kayaking through a pod of Orcas.
