This immediately reminds me of the film Ex Machina, the directorial debut of Alex Garland in 2015. One of my favourite films of that year.

It needs to look like it's had kids, belong to someone else and have an element of danger. And you can't manufacture that. Not unless I secretly use Zero's while he's out walking the dog.
I did. No reflection on my morality or whatever, but after seeing the film I mentioned above it did make me think about what the future holds in store for us humans.
Wasn't there some kind of toy doll a few years ago that you had to ''care for'? I think that AI in the form of some lifelike robot that can register our thoughts & feelings and react to them is aways off but I wouldn't rule it out in the millennia to come
