What Film Am I? - zippy
The story of an orphaned boy who becomes radicalised after a military strike kills his family.

He is indoctrinated in to religion. Joins a band of insurgents and carries out a terrorist attack against a military installation killing thousands?

Nice point Zippy.

Except he wasn’t an orphaned boy. Not when he was attacking the military installation

Ah, but he thought he was.

He was also from a hot and sandy place!

Goodness, this film would never be made today! ;-)

He thought he was orphaned, he didn't know who his father was.

He didn’t know who his sister was either, and he was tongue-tonsiling her.

So we have an incestuous pair of terrorists, one of whom came from a desert region, inducted in to a hokey religion and attacking the military branch of the legal government.

I think George Lucas and Disney should be up in front of the beak for sedition! ;-)

The father (who half-strangled his wife) tortured his daughter then hacked off the hand of his son.

Darth Brady.

I remember seeing Star Wars when it was released in 1977. A friend was reading medicine at Newcastle Uni so we visited for a weekend on the lash. We got really really really hammered at a pub called the Cooperage on the Quayside one Saturday afternooon, our girlfriends went off in disgust, and I remember walking up a flight of stone steps and joining a queue of people. No idea what the queue was for but we thought it must be good.

With a spinning head the special effects were outstanding.

I wish my constitution was as good these days

Having been at Newcastle University at that time (and knowing a lot of medics!) - the Cooperage was an interesting drinking place. Not one of my choices.
I suspect a Newcastle University medic probably out-drank you. They had plenty of practice!
