 Bah Humbug! - Pat
Someone at Marks & Spencer has decided that they absolutely have got to have a full load (26 pallets) of Easter Eggs delivered to their Distribution Centre at Bradford for 5am on Wednesday morning.

This means the Easter Eggs have to be loaded at 2am at Fakenham chocolate factory to make the deadline.

Fakenham is 1 hour from our yard and we live 20 minutes from the yard.

So that means a Boxing night alarm call for Ian so that you cam all stock up on Easter Eggs:)

Bah Humbug, good job he doesn't drink alcohol!

What an absurdity - as if they need these Easter eggs in a warehouse on Wednesday.

Bah humbug indeed.

You can buy hot cross buns all year round.

Not done the lorry load of Valentine's cards yet?
 Bah Humbug! - Clk Sec
They were probably delivered last month...
 Bah Humbug! - Old Navy
True, Costco lead the retail calender by a couple of months or so.
 Bah Humbug! - Runfer D'Hills
I've spent the last working month selling product to retailers for delivery into stores in Autumn/Winter 2017. ( first deliveries in June ) Shortly, we'll be developing samples for Spring 2018.

Twas ever thus.

Some seem to think so. You know, the ones who would not last five minutes in a robust working environment.

What is a robust working environment?

What is a robust working environment?

One which an Employment Tribunal is around the corner ?
 Bah Humbug! - Old Navy
Mummy, mummy! He called me a little *******. (Insert appropriate phrase). :-)

Ahh right. Like the chap I saw a couple of weeks ago who was gay and black. At his wits end and on sick because of 'banter' about him being black and gay?

Aside from the Equalities, or if you want to be pejorative PC, angle a 'robust workplace' where people are sick, leave or never get recruited costs the employer good money and/or lost potential.

What's the point here?

That in a 'robust' environment, presumably of abuse, barracking and "banter", those that are genuinely bothered about it are at fault?

Given this forum's obsession with bullying that would seem a bit at odds.

People who propogate a "robust" environment should be "robustly" treated by the company and drop kicked through the nearest door.

They are costing their company money and offending/upsetting other people just to make themselves feel bigger.

I see there are at least half a dozen managers here with Victorian era training. I assume you have yet to figure out why unions exist.
 Bah Humbug! - R.P.
From experience ON, there is a cohort of workers who don't even know that Unions exist, and even Unions these days wouldn't tolerate "Banter" - Unions in the trucking industry - you're having a laugh !
 Bah Humbug! - Bromptonaut
Exactly same experience Rob. First time I thought it was a language issue although the guy concerned was fluent. Second one just had no concept.....

A useful guide from the Royal Navy ON. Well worth reading.

I admit that document linked post dates my service and you lot can't spot a wind up, but I would not have lasted a full career without being fully aware of my troops welfare and being ferociously protective of their best interests.

Even if they did not appreciate it at the time!. :-)

Popped in today for few last minute bits - nearly all the xmas gear had left the store already except for a few gift type items
 Bah Humbug! - rtj70
The Easter Eggs will have a best before date though. Clothes and shoes do not.

Sure can. I regularly buy my favourite deluxe HCBs in M&S
 Bah Humbug! - Bobby
When I worked in Sainsbury's we took delivery of our first Easter Eggs on Hogmanay. That's 31 Dec in English money!
As and when the Post Xmas sale items ran down the Easter eggs were used to fill the gaps until could fully implement the Easter planogram.
 Bah Humbug! - Pat
Yes, I know Bobby, I used to deliver them to you:)
