I've very nearly bought a Brompton several times. Until about 5 years ago I needed to be in and get around central London a couple of times a week, and it sort of made sense then to take the idea seriously. Now it's more like a couple of times a month so perhaps not as useful.

Never did get around to it and mainly just used Boris bikes if it suited the events of the day. Very occasionally took my own non-folding bike in the boot of the car but then you have the issue of finding somewhere to leave it where it won't be damaged or stolen.
