I thought the JY Prog was very entertaining.

>>He matriculated at age 15<<
Doesn't everybody?

I de-matriculated at the same age.

A real pro.
I was on the road a lot from 1979-87 and must have done thousands of miles with him. Great radio voice and very effective with his interviews. I can't think of a better Radio 2 daytime presenter.

I enjoyed his radio 1 prorammes in my early teens. Was surprised when he went to the oldies station, Radio 2 where he kept my Dad entertained while on the road.
Moving on a few years R2 was the station playing my sort of music. As a full time office worker I was never a regular listener to JY but enjoyed his programmes hugely on days off doing DIY or whatever.
His interviews and exchanges with his Legal Eagle/Beagle were radio at it's best.

Polite, a Gentleman and pronounced his words, unlike the likes of that Idiot Steve Wright et al.
