 Magnificent record of the past - Armel Coussine
I have been given as a birthday present a big heavy tome, Panoramas of Lost London 1870-1945, some hundreds of big old photos of the Smoke. It's a wonderful historical and social record that ends in the year I was seven.

I am absolute crap at presents but some people are really good at them.

You've got balls. I wouldn't buy herself saucepans even if she asked for them. It'd be the present that would be remembered at times of strife, not the request.
