Glorious weather again here oop North, and despite having to work all Sunday ( new part time job) took full advantage Saturday. A good friend is editor of Lakeland Walker and is writing an article on the extended LD & YD National Parks, which come into effect in August. I know just the walk for the 'new' LD so took him on a nice 12 mile circular east of the A6 N of Kendal. A high level circumnavigation of the Borrowdale valley ( the other one). Wild fell ponies, saw a large red fox, very few other walkers, heard the first cuckoo of summer and the song of the skylark all day long.
Shame about the hazy views, and his digital SLR broke so no pics of packhorse bridges for another article, but otherwise a perfect day.
And roof down both there & back, probably my last such trip in the BM.
Much safer than risking being thrown over handlebars
