OK - this is from the most hated web site for some of you, but it is quoting a well known German paper (whose political stance is unknown to me) and granted there is speculation and extrapolation, but this surely is food for thought about the future of Europe itself?

I know I'm like a broken record on this but:

Syria (with extensions to Iraq) is a refugee/displaced persons crisis on Europe's fringe on a scale not seen since WW2. Articles in Breitbart or any other opinion have no bearing on the numbers.

What do we do for those people?

Heads in the sand is not an option....

For you, me and others with a brain, obviously not.

But for many "head in the sand" is their preferred option.

I read somewhere recently that Russia was deliberately targeting residential areas in Syria to displace the population with the intention of destabilising Europe. I can't remember the source.

Thanks BBP, of course there is an alternative view that American Neocons are to blame.

Maybe true, maybe not. When your home town is in ruins identifying the makers plate on the bombs isn't a priority and shouldn't determine where/how you get fed and sheltered.
