... is terrific, although not a great artist like Robert Crumb.
I've just read with great pleasure a Freak Brothers comic which I have lying around.
Not everyone here would like or appreciate it though. Dog perhaps. Fortunately I remain childish and love that sort of thing anyway in idle moments. I remember especially a long poem called 'When I set my chickens free'. There's a great frame with six chickens driving a Cadillac convertible. Just like real life.

Never heard of him, what area of art does he do his thing?
Shouldn't you have put this in non motoring?

Comics, righto. Still never doesn't twig anything on the name.

What they used to call 'underground comics'. Shelton and Crumb were supreme in the genre. But they aren't everyone's cup of tea, and some here might disapprove strongly. Not me though. Basically I'm still about 12.

Probably. Sorry Dave, Rob et al.

The chickens seem to be in the Cadillac at 2min 59sec in this video:

Last Nov I looked at the Roy Lichtenstein exhibition on view at the Scottish Nat Gallery for Modern Art in Edinburgh. Pop art as used in comic strips. Interesting stuff but not really my cuppa, although I have an open mind where art is concerned.
I'm more of a Canalletto & Hockney person, if that makes sense!

I'm sure I had plate of that in an Italian restaurant once.

Doesn't compare with Freud Bacon.

I've definitely had that in Birmingham.

....Birmingham.....
As Mike Harding once said "Birmingham; If the world had piles, that's where they'd be"

Yes, excellent, but the frame I remember isn't here.
The 'chickens driving Cadillacs to Washington DC' frame had six chickens, all wearing shades and looking well cool.

Had all of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics (including the adventures of Fat Freddy's Cat - an 18-rated Garfield) back in the 80s.
The drug-fuelled shenanigans were awesome - no wonder AC enjoys them too!

Brilliant stuff.
The cat stole the show.
I remember one where the Freaks get stoned and go shopping - the Cat gets to eat smoked salmon and caviare for a week.

'too', eh? I'm glad you like them too Lygonos!
I don't suppose you read my comic, but today's edition had another piece of balderdash in the news pages about cocaine making your brain 'digest itself'.
It isn't the most harmless illegal drug (you never really know what's in it) but really the comic needs to grow up and stop printing alarmist garbage. Even little baby druggies know garbage when they see it, so this killjoy puritanical line will just encourage them to carry on regardless, perhaps harming themselves. Or so it seems to me. I'm not totally irresponsible.
Just Say No, or just say 'just a small little toot for me'. Be rational with toxic substances all you nippers.
