I thought I heard on a news report that Dockland Light Railway (DLR) drivers are to go on strike.

When did you ever see a train driver on the DLR?

I think they're called train captains and while their public facing role is customer care they also have important safety duties in event of an emergency. Would you be happy to travel on a completely unmanned train on a complex network?

I have. The controls are at the front under a locked cover. Each train captain is trained to drive.
