Inspired by RP's line in Rattle's Underground Trains on Mainline Services thread:
>> That's the crap Wales Government for you. I've never voted Tory in my life, but I
>>sincerely hope that this bunch of useless wallies get a kicking by them in the 2016 elections.
Scotland is just as bad, with the NHS and the Police in complete disarray. No doubt that is just the bit you hear about. A non-nationalist government would be hauled over the coals if it were that incompetent. Surely the population must wake up and turn Scotland and Wales blue.

The only thing that ever turns blue in the Valleys is the air. That lot would vote for a dead dog if it had a red rosette on.

Quote form a local round here:
"I cannot believe the Tories could get 10,000 voters in Staffordshire Moorlands.at the GE".. they got 20,000.. Labour got 10,000.
Another quote.. "I would vote Tory at the GE but my grandfather would be most upset".. Her grandfather had been dead for 10 years...

For the sake of clarity life in Wales is under Labour. I have no qualms about voting Plaid Cymru - I think their Leanne Wood is a proper socialist unlike the the Conservative light Labour AMs that sit in the Bay. They're spending money as if its going out of fashion.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I have never detected in my working / holiday visits to the principality, anything approaching the levels of anti-English feeling many of my compatriots seem to have as a part of their DNA.

Surely the Nationalists just con the electorate at election time by blaming Westminster (whoever is in govt.) for not giving them enough money, thereby furthering their cause?

Of course.
And it shows the IQ of their compatriots that they believe it..

That's rather offensive madf. The Barnet Formula has been discredited.

I think sometimes RP, 'the truth hurts'.
I can't answer for Wales, but whenever I sit down and have a chat with my father in law who lives in Scotland (he's English), where he runs a business... there's not a chance in hell the Tories will have power up there...forget it.
Now fair enough, if a majority of the population want socialism, that's up to them... and the rest of us who definitely do not, would have to put up with it.
However, those that voted for that shouldn't moan about socialist spending policies, they voted for it. That's the rub.
The other thing is...I just cannot get my head around an otherwise seemingly intelligent human-being thinking one thing, but voting another because their dad (or dead grandad) would want it... why not think for themselves FFS.

I've never detected any anti-English sentiment since I've lived here (Though I'm Irish but you wouldn't know unless I told you). Mind you, Pembrokeshire has a high English population anyway, and the Welsh are realistic enough not to share the Scot's delusion that they would turn into a world superpower if they became independent.

The Celtic nationalists are fine by me. They aren't a national majority and don't aspire to be.
That Nicola Sturgeon is well cute too.
As for Pembrokeshire, 'little England' they were calling it when I lived there decades ago. Never was any epithet wider of the mark (more typically 'Welsh' I am tempted to say). There were monoglot Welsh-speakers up the farm track from where we lived, and very nice Gary and Rita were. I was in love with Rita but when you're only 10 or 11 what can you do?

She was 12 and already a sexy piece. 'Phwoar!' as I was too young to think at the time, but all the same something like that was at the back of my overheated little brain...
Pre-adolescent sexuality shouldn't be ignored. 'Shut up darling, they're just playing. Oh look, the sun on the elms...'

The Nats don't like being offered full fiscal autonomy.

The SNP must be watching the result of this election and proposed referendum with some interest.
