 Meccano Bridge - Robin O'Reliant

There's no mention of it in the BBC report but didn't James May do a Meccano bridge as a Toy Stories project? I was imagining that was in Belfast but on reflection I think it was in Liverpool.

I don't think that was Meccano as I know it (I don't mean Ted's sweet little picnic table).

I do remember a magnificent, real Meccano model of a transporter bridge, based on the one at Runcorn I guess. It was a huge thing and would have taken several No. 10 sets.

I adored Meccano but got no further than No. 8 and gears outfit A. No. 9 was twice the size and No. 10 almost unbelievably huge and expensive.
