Another vanished thread - Armel Coussine
A long thread, in which NoFM2R and I had made many posts, seems to have vanished.

It's true that the thread contained some disagreeable posts from all parties. But I find it upsetting when stuff just vanishes and no one says a word.
Another vanished thread - No FM2R
Are you sure? Which one?
Another vanished thread - Armel Coussine
Don't remember its title. I'm surprised you don't remember it happening though.
Another vanished thread - No FM2R
Give me a clue.
Another vanished thread - No FM2R
The one about dying cyclists in London is still there.
 Another vanished thread - Bromptonaut
What was the subject upon which such disagreeable stuff was posted.

>> Don't remember its title.

There were some heated exchanges in one of the "cycling corner" threads" recently that I removed (well hid, not removed) as it had nothing to do with cycling and just descended into a slanging match, but IIRC you weren't one of the perpetrators.

No doubt I'll get blamed though.

>> But I find it upsetting when stuff just vanishes and no one says a word.

IIRC somewhere in the T's & C's of the forum (or maybe in house rules) we can remove "stuff" without notification, but generally out of politeness and courtesy we more often than not make comment.

It would help though if you could remember what it is you think has been deleted, and from where.

One of the comforting reliable factors about this forum is that you cock, up we blame you.

Its a tradition.

We signed up to a commitment to blaming you before we were allowed to screw things up.

What was deleted from the cycling thread?

Some sort of notification would at least assist the combatants in understanding which line they'd crossed and when.

Yeah. I cannot for the life of me think where Zero or I could have stepped over the line.

I'm one of the moderators our Harley club's forum.

Comes with the territory.

Sorry AC, I cannot find anything that is missing, if you see what I mean.

Are you sure you've just not misplaced it or misremembered which thread it was in?
Another vanished thread - Armel Coussine
Don't think I was imagining it all, but it was some days ago and doesn't matter much.

This sort of thing?

EDIT: although that's not you, but I think you were involved somewhere?

That's the one Focus. Oddly though it seems less disagreeable than I remember.

One is often prey to guilt and anxiety when timewasting on the internet. Things seem to get very inflamed, then later you wonder what all the fuss was about.

That's Dave in the clear, then.

Some of the content got moved to Volume 25 (approx. 25 posts), and some of it (wot I mentioned earlier) got removed.

i.e. that's probably why there is less content in vol.24 than you can last remember.

Makes a change ;)

Including, no doubt, some of the more disagreeable stuff... QED then. Had me worried there for a while.

It was 6 posts (I just checked). Mainly name calling, swear filter evasion, and willy waving, but nothing to do with cycling.

Could delete 35 of the cycling volumes and no one bar a handful of folk would notice.

Last time I looked in it was about arguments over who to blame between cyclists and lorries - anything changed yet??

No its still the fault of the cyclists.

You'll burn in hell, you know you will.

These things come in cycles.

Might be difficult seeing as there are only currently 25 volumes.

Unless someone (other than me) has already deleted the other 10?

I don't follow vanished threads..

My Alzheimer's prevents me from finding them when I am sober..But after half a bottle of Asda's finest rose ### I can find anything....hic..

### My logic suggests an irrationality somewhere..

Which is worse - to be reminded of the disagreeable stuff you have written, or to be paranoid that someone is deleting your wise words?
