Judge asks for court to give the victim £500 from public funds.

This reminds me of a story in Oxford in the early 90s. A would-be car thief decided to pounce on a nurse unlocking her car after a late shift in the JR hospital. He chose his target poorly, as she happened to be a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Let's just say it was fortunate for him that he chose to launch the attack close to a hospital with A&E facilities, and no he didn't get away with the car ;-).

The local rag published a mug shot of the battered scrote, and a humiliating headline as well. I knew the guy vaguely, and let's just say it couldn't have happened to a nicer chap.
