I find this report about the Solar Impulse really interesting and wondered if anyone on here has personal experience of managing with minimal sleep over long periods.

I found this bit amusing
The British Ocean Reunion team, planning to row across the Atlantic later this year, will operate an alternating system, where one person sleeps for two hours while another takes a turn at the oar.
If they try that, using one oar, they will be going round in circles.

Have a go. It's a knack, some people can grasp, some can't.
But very satisfying. Done expertly it takes no more than a flick of the wrist.

I had a go once, found I could do it and, yes, it is very satisfying.
