 Stripping paint from railings - Mapmaker
I need to strip some old paint from some railings, and have concluded that I need a "proper" gas-powered blow torch, with attached gas bottle. Who knows about these boys' toys?

1. Which one to buy.
2. Regulators, etc. etc.
3. Can I run two off the same cylinder?

Metal or wood? If it's metal then you want an angle grinder with a wire cup brush. If wood, then any hand held blow torch will do - unless you've got acres to do - in which case I'd pay someone else!!

If the paint is that tough to get off can you not simply sand it and paint over it?

Metal railings.

I work in Marylebone. All the contractors round here use gas torches to strip railings.
