Having checked both sites, yes its the same story.

Same story - slightly differenet content! in the world wide version DHL gets a mention and use a full size picture of DHL van!
Depending on the level of Audi car transponder security I can just see a potential scammer armed with some scanning technology, just following the DHL van on its round and removing the goods seconds after delivery:)
or maybe just a crowbar!

...don't let the car get sight of your credit card.
It won't be long before it's ordering things for itself :-O
Vorsprung Durch Technik.

Private sector has brought this tech. to market, how long before the public sector start to abuse it?

How do you think they might do that?

Road tolls. It's the long term goal, this brings it closer.
While many will argue road tolls are a fair usage scheme I don't agree. There are certain things of which the cost should be shared because society as a whole benefits e.g. cancer care in the health service imagine if that was pay as you go.
Similarly a decent road infrastructure is of benefit to all, even those who do not drive but consume goods delivered by the road network.
I'm a bit annoyed that car drivers get free use of the infrastructure but motorbike riders have to pay £80. Surely a 1.5 tonne car is more damaging to the infrastructure than a 190kgs motorbike ?

This isn't new technology to bring in Road tolls.the technology to follow people hasn't just appeared. It's public pressure holding back government not the technology.
As long as there was a drop in tax on fuel, as a low user of roads and the ones i do user are out in the sticks I'd be quids in!

You're right, all those smartphone users have been doing it for years. I think, and I could be wrong here, it's the first time it's been made public that movement data is accessible from outside the car.
People have had integrated SatNav for many years, owners of high end cars have had access to manufacturer based support by phone, initiated by the customer. I think (again happy to be corrected) this is the first time, it has been publicly acknowledged, an external company has had access to your location.
