Electronic Encyclopedia for the web-phobic - Felix
Hi,
My elderly aunt's encyclopedia britannica has bitten the dust, and she found an ad for this tinyurl.com/39zye3c in the telegraph, which would double as a dictionary cum crossword solver. Have any of you had an encounter with one of these? I was looking for possible alternatives and found what looked like a much better model on Amazon tinyurl.com/3yrutgz . But I was wondering if by shelling out a bit more there might be better alternatives, thinking a bit laterally. I was wondering about e-readers but she is definitely NOT computer literate and she wouldn't want to start now and, as far as I knew, you need web access to use one of these. Was even wondering about portable games consoles but as far as I could find, you can't get encyclopedia/dictionary software for them.
Any ideas much appreciated! I think the better seiko model on Amazon is probably the best bet but not too sure.
