 Joe Cocker RIP - smokie
Seem to be losing quite a few all of a sudden...

Beeb article doesn't mention Delta Lady which I liked...

Another great loss although I suspect that someone 'may' come along and say different!

Born Sheffield. Died Colorado.
Wonder if it was the altitude?

Indeed, its a loss yes, but not a great one. Spent most of his time cocking up covers. Never forgive him for the abortion he made of "the letter"

At least he is up where he belongs (didn't like that either)

Smokes is right tho - Delta lady was good.

Its not my fault you have unsophisticated and narrow musical taste. Bet you hate reggae and bangla too.

Here is one for you I know you will love

I love reggae, but I won't pass the Duchy on either side.

Quality and class, but next time you film something like this try and improve the focus a little:-0)

"you have unsophisticated and narrow musical taste."

Apparently, when Ray Charles was asked: “Who are the greatest living blues singers?” he answered: “Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Joe Cocker.”

Maybe Ray Charles had unsophisticated and narrow musical tastes too?

I saw Joe at the Leicester Poly Arts Ball in '69 or '70, and he was terrific.

Indeed, a great loss. Not so much because I thought his music was fantastic as mostly it wasn't really my sort of thing, but because he was an individual full of character.

We need more individuals in the music business, and until we work out how to bypass one Direction and generate individual talent, we need the existing ones to hold off on dying for a while.
