 Calling the scientists and engineers - Crankcase
CERN needs your help identifying..well..odd bits. From an archive of photos they have digitised but they don't actually know what they are.

I thought one "looked a bit like a typewriter" but I think they might like a bit more than that...

That will be some kind of turbine motor or generator thing
It has blades and a commutator and brushes.

The first picture is the prototype police breathalyser.
It was found to be a bit bulky, and the protective anti-vomit suit in practice to be unnecessary, policemen being quick on their feet.
