Spectacular rocket launch explosion. (put the player on full screen for the best effect)

"The search will start for the cause"
Well clearly it was the bloke with the gas pedal, "The main engine is at 108%"
"Damn you Hank I told you to keep an eye of the rev counter"
I wonder if the delay caused by the boat encroaching the safety area had anything to do with the explosion - perhaps a build up of gas or stress on a component being too cold for too long?
Thank goodness it was unmanned!
"hopefully soon, and we'll get things back on track"
Glue it together?
"freeze-dried crab cakes" ????
Damn these cheap foreign imports!
Antares?
Sounds like a Vauxhall... goes like a Vauxhall.
" goes like a Vauxhall"
Really? I'd don't think I've ever said of my Astra "It goes like a rocket".
An expert said on BBC News that the rockets are old Russian examples, presumably used to keep down costs.
Well the payload lost was rather valuable, so false economy it appears.....
I suppose it'll push up the insurance premiums for all the other rocket owners. :-)
We have our moments too, I was sitting on the beach at Cocoa Beach waiting for one of our Polaris submarines to fire a test missile. The missile emerged from the water, the rocket motor fired, and a few seconds later the missile turned horizontal and headed in the general direction of Miami. Then the Range Safety Officer fired the self destruction charges and spoiled the entertainment.

Typical Americans - over a week early for Guy Fawkes night!

As their national anthem says
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,

Actually satellite launches are regularly insured and any loss does indeed affect the premiums for subsequent launches.
I have a friend in the satellite business, in his early years he wrote the post launch abort code for Arrianne and was actually on site in French Guiana when they had to use it. He moaned that he never got any thanks that it worked.
Nice of them to do it at night for full effect.

Was it? I got the impression it was dawn or dusk and was so bright the automatic exposure control made it look darker.
Well the clock bottom left said it was 22:22 hours
Bet the techies didn't make it to last orders...
